El Segundo Woman's Club
Mission Statement
The El Segundo Woman's Club is an all-volunteer charitable organization committed to improving lives, strengthening communities, promoting civic engagement, and preserving its historic 1912 clubhouse.

Supporting the Community
Founded in 1922, the Club continues to uphold its early members’ values: “to search for knowledge and help their neighbors.” Today, that commitment is reflected in its philanthropic and civic work, from awarding scholarships to El Segundo and Arena high school students to supporting organizations that serve domestic violence survivors, youth aging out of foster care, environmental causes, Veterans, and humanitarian efforts. The Club also supports the City of El Segundo’s library, police and fire departments, and Chamber of Commerce.
The Club has a long tradition of hosting community events, including garage sales, craft fairs where local artisans can sell their work, and public forums for City Council and School Board candidates.
Historic Preservation
The Club is committed to the preservation of its historic clubhouse. Built in 1912 as a wood-framed schoolhouse for elementary students, the building was acquired by the Woman’s Club in 1936 and renovated with the assistance of noted Los Angeles architect, John C. Austin (1870-1963). The clubhouse was listed in the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior on 30 May 2023 and represents not only El Segundo’s earliest history, but also a piece of women’s history.
